Directed by Head Field Hockey Coach Helen Knull and Assistant Coaches Tamara Durante, Matt Michie and Erin Shanahan, along with current and former Spartans, current Division I Coaches.
This camp is intended for athletes aged 12-18 years of age. Athletes will be organized in smaller age and skill appropriate groups for the sessions. Michigan State Field Hockey camps are designed for players of all levels (from beginner to elite). Each day has two 2.5hrs sessions, which offer great instruction and attention to detail. We will have field players train fundamental skills and techniques for stick work; passing and receiving techniques; goal-scoring; team and individual defense; offense. We will have specialized training for goalkeepers to work on their fundamental skills of kicking; leg saves; hand and stick saves; grounding; decision making. We will play small games and full-size games to put the techniques we work on into game situations. Athletes will have the chance to showcase their talents and learn new skills.
